New Place to Ride

Today we headed out to find a new place to ride. We had heard of a place not far from the house so after lunch we headed over to check it out.

Here is what we found. I will share a few photos and give a link to more. We tootled around for a bit.

And then I had to go meet someone and collect some paperwork from him. So we headed home to collect the dog and I put some shoes on as Chris wanted to come back and check things out again. Just before we left the first time we met up with some guys who showed us an area that looked like a lot of fun which is why we were coming back.
This is what we did when we first came back, this guy's friends all laughed at him.

I just made a comment of having someone there to photograph your stupidity on top of his friends laughing at him.

Belfair

As fall shows us a nice sunny side that we don't usually see this time of year. We are in the middle of a dry spell and this weekend's trip to Belfair shows just how much we are in need of some rain.

This is the start of the trails here at Belfair. There really isn't a lot of Jeep trails but as we have ridden them before on our quads we do kind of know them.

As we started out we ran with a group that ride here quite often as you can see we saw a lot of dust everywhere we went here. You put your foot on the ground and dust billows around your shoes. HATE the dust.

We hung out for a little while with this group then we went out on our own for a bit and then headed back home

We have now tried Evan's Creek, which I have updated the link to the other pictures so you can see more of what we did that day, and Belfair. Evan's has some challenging areas but not a lot of trails. Belfair not challenging and few trails.
Looking for an area that is not only challenging but also offers lots of trails.

Full Moon

Nice night to view a full moon.

Just a quick note to share some pictures I took on my way home the night of the full moon. I just love seeing this unfortunately though it is getting harder to get good pictures due to the amount of the building and houses that keep going up.

Old Friend - July

This summer was a great year as I saw a dear friend who I haven't seen since the third grade.
Over the years we would write to one another and exchange pictures, but after awhile I lost contact.
For many years I would think of her especially around her birthday. I had heard at one point she had had a baby boy and I had bought a card to send to her, but it was returned as I no longer had the right address.
How things were done before the internet ever was made available, even before 411 was as good as it is now.
Then my sister moved into Brookswood and lived across the street for my lost friends Aunt.
Now I had and address and a phone number. Many years had past during this time and I found out she had married and now had three children.
As more time went by I found myself in her neck of the woods but not only was it the wee hours of the morning but we were blowing through her town on our way south.
This past summer though, she made a huge loop to the west coast and down through the states and back home.
It was so great seeing you again my dear friend and her is the photo I promised (many months ago) to share with you.

If you want a direct copy let me know.

Mom's Day

Apparently I am WAY behind on my picture uploads and my blog to go along with the pictures. I am so very sorry. I found this out as I was uploading my pictures from today, so I am back tracking a little.
In August we came up for a visit and I saw family and friends and have a few pictures to share.

Kids really are too cute for words a lot of the time and these two are no exception, Niki you have done a wonderful job with all your children.

I had so much fun watching these two for many hours while they not only entertained themselves but us as well.

Oh, and Mom your deck looks great too.

After a long visit Niki had to leave as the rest of the family had put demands on her schedule and I proceeded upstairs as the family was arriving.
As we were enjoying the upper deck and the lovely weather, Dozer had to get in on getting comfy.

Looks like Dad is the person that Dozer has chosen to lie behind.

It really is a dog's world.

We had a good time as the family arrived in spurts and everyone enjoyed themselves. As the night came to an end the camera was put down and I missed recording the rest of the evening.
On our way home the following day, which was screwed up as the border line was ridiculous and unexpected. But we found some entertainment just the same. Unfortunately though I was in a bad spot to get any photos but here is the one we got. Apparently all the lanes were stopped while the Border Patrol surrounded a pick Up and took both occupants out in handcuffs.

What an end to a good visit.

Come On Fall

As summer moves on and fall comes in with a bang, we find ourselves starting a new hobby.
Getting back to the outdoors now that we are home, we are now Jeeping. I know, who thought this was the next hobby we would get into.
Chris use to 4x4 with his friends as he approached his twenty's; I worked as others ran their 4x4's through mud pits, the great times at Mt. Cheam in Chilliwack, BC.
This is our new toy, well his new toy.

So this was our first outing and we went with friends who knew this area and the Jeep trails. We know the trails at Belfair as we ran them with the quads; back a  few years ago that is.
I have upload some pictures to Picasa that show of this day. What it doesn't show is how much Dozer didn't like the ride. That or he wasn't feeling, we still don't know for sure. What I do know is I was out of the Jeep A LOT walking with Dozer. So I had the opportunity to take pictures.
Enjoy.

Interesting is as It Is

Everyday offers new and exciting opportunities and this past weekend was just that. It is nice when things start to flow and you have the opportunity to expand on the things you normally do.
I know, how very cryptic of me.
We made a new purchase and have entered it to the world of 4x4 Jeeps, not the regular style Jeeps that you may be thinking of but the Cherokee Sport style of Jeep.
It is a different way to travel through the trees and over the rocks that we were unable to do on our quads. This definitely opens up our traveling experience through out Washington.
We are meeting up with a different crowd of thrill seekers and turning heads in our new ride. Chris has plans to improve the look of his new toy as the months ahead allow him the opportunity to be creative with his new rig.
I do have some concerns though, Dozer was not settling down very well as we started up one of the trails and I'm not sure if it was because he wasn't feeling well or if it was because of the angle of the Jeep. So to settle him down I would get out and walk with him so he could do what ever it was he needed to do. It was a great day as you can see in the pictures.

Stay tune as this looks to be an exciting time had by many and I plan to photograph our weekend adventures and share with the rest of you.
